The home of the White Sox, U.S. Cellular Field, was completed in 1991 and rests to the west of the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago’s Armour Square neighborhood.  The ballpark seats 47,098 and its total attendance last season was 2,284,164.

Commute Times:
White Sox tickets aren’t free and to pay for them, loyal fans work hard and drive hard.  Over 70% of Chicago DMA residents that attended a MLB game last year and have a full or part-time job spend 40 minutes or more simply driving to and from work*.  Combine this with trips to pick up the kids, go to the gym, run errands, and go out for a night in the city and it is easy to see how MLB fans in Chicago are the perfect group to reach with outdoor advertising.

Media Exposure:
Chicago DMA residents that attended at least one MLB game last year are becoming less exposed to other media types every day.  They are more likely to own satellite radio, many own a DVR, and the majority use the internet for information traditionally found in the newspaper.
